Cynthia Henderson Porter, LCSW

Cynthia Henderson Porter has worked in human services since 1991. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University earning a Bachelor of Social Work Degree in 1994, a Master of Social Work Degree in 1996, and a Post-Master’s Certificate in Education in 2003. Ms. Porter has provided counseling services for children, teens, college students, adults and families in various community agencies to include Child Guidance Clinic(s), Christian Organizations, Public Schools, Public Health Departments, and the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services. Ms. Porter has also provided mediation, conflict resolution, and group conferencing services to resolve problems between family members, among colleagues, and friends. Additionally, Ms. Porter has experience as a Program Manager and an Adjunct Professor.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Ms. Porter offers counseling services to children, teens and adults who are struggling with various issues and concerns to include challenges with attention, hyperactivity/impulsivity, depression, anxiety, grief, coping, anger, stress, crisis, trauma, work, addiction, eating disorders, and relationships. 

Ms. Porter has served on Advisory Boards for the prevention of homelessness, teen pregnancy prevention, dropout prevention, the reduction of premature births and infant mortality. Ms. Porter is also an active member of several Professional Organizations; national and international groups focused on volunteer endeavors, community services, civic issues, and human rights.
